GILGIS TO RETIRE FROM DU PAGE COUNTY BOARD 

DU PAGE COUNTY -- DuPage County Board Member Kyle Gilgis (District 3) announced on Tuesday that she would be retiring from her position effective August 31, 2009. 

Gilgis, who served for 10 years as the Clerk of Downers Grove Township before being appointed to the County Board, says that her decision was made because "it is the right time to undertake the next chapter of my life."

"Serving the residents of DuPage County for the past 20 years has been a tremendous honor," said Gilgis.  "I am proud of the work we have accomplished and I want to thank the wonderful staff at the County for all of their hard work and support."

DuPage County Board Chairman Bob Schillerstrom praised Gilgis for her dedication to the families of DuPage and notes that her work will never be forgotten. 

"Kyle's hard work and dedication will leave a lasting imprint on DuPage County and I want to thank her for her commitment and leadership," said Schillerstrom. 

Gilgis was appointed to the DuPage County Board 1999.
