DU PAGE COUNTY - On Sunday July 26th, between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., pet owners will put on their walking shoes and pick up their leashes to benefit DuPage County Animal Care & Control's homeless and unwanted animals at the 2nd Annual Dog Wash n' Walk event, which will be held at Illinois Institute of Technology's Rice Campus at 201 East Loop Road in Wheaton. Sponsored by "The River" (95.9 WERV), and hosted by the Friends of DuPage County Animal Care and Control Foundation, guests will be able to: treat their pooches to a bath; enjoy a leisurely stroll around the campus; treat themselves and their pets to goodies offered by local business owners; visit with animal rescue organizations; and meet animals available for adoption. Participants can also take part in the official walk at 12:15 p.m. led by Wheaton Mayor Michael J. Gresk and his DCACC adoption alum "Nikko". DCACC adoption alumni and their families will enjoy special activities and goodies at the event. Registration for the Dog Wash n' Walk event is $25 per participant and includes a wash for up to three dogs, a participant goody bag and event t-shirt. Registration fee is waived with pledges of $50 or more. Wash only is available for $10 per dog. All leashed, socialized and vaccinated dogs are welcome.
