2009 VOLUNTEEN SCHOLARSHIP WINNER ANNOUNCED

DU PAGE COUNTY -- This year's recipient of the DuPage Convalescent Center Foundation Regis McGinnis Scholarship is Elizabeth Roe of Carol Stream. Elizabeth has been a VolunTeen at the DuPage Convalescent Center for the past three years as an Animal Assisted Visitor with her dog "Pedro" and has visited the Center with her friends to sing for the Residents.  She graduated from Bartlett High School this spring with many accomplishments.  She was a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and is an Illinois State Scholar. She was active in music and participated in Choir, Jazz Choir and Orchestra and was the recipient of the National High School Choral Award.  She was ranked in the top 8 percent of her class and is attending the University of Illinois-Chicago this fall where she plans on majoring in Bilingual Elementary Education.  The DuPage Convalescent Center would like to congratulate Elizabeth and wish her well in her future endeavors.
