2009 FALL FESTIVAL AND 5K RUN/FAMILY WALK
Participants Run, Walk and Roll to Benefit Center Residents

DU PAGE COUNTY -- Join the DuPage Convalescent Center at our 42nd Annual Fall Festival on Saturday, September 19th from 9:00 - 3:00 as we celebrate 121 years of service to DuPage County.

This fun filled family day of activities will include a resident craft sale, bake sale, spectacular raffle, kid's games, book fair, craft & flea market vendors, scarecrow patch, car show, a huge garage sale, and food and entertainment.  In addition, Animal Care and Control will be hosting tours and an open house. 

Proceeds from the event will benefit the DuPage Convalescent Center Resident Recreation Fund, which provides quality of life programs and services to the residents year round.  The Center is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility located at 400 N. County Farm Rd. in Wheaton, Illinois.  Activities will be held on the West Campus Grounds of the County Complex.

The celebration will kick off with the 8th Annual 5K Run and Family Walk hosted by the DuPage Convalescent Center Foundation.  This event features three classes, including runners, walkers and wheelchair racers.  The 5K has been designated as a "Best of Chicagoland" Race by the Chicago Area Runners Association.  All race participants will be timed and scored and will receive a t-shirt and goody bag.  Medals are hand-made by the Center's residents and will be awarded to top finishers in over 27 different categories.  This year's race will also feature two team competitions, fastest combined race time and most donations raised.
