COUNTY TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARINGS ON BUDGET DU PAGE COUNTY — The DuPage County Board will be hosting three public hearings on the coming Fiscal Year 2010 budget during the month of September. Residents are encouraged to attend these open forums and engage in the construction of the budget, as well as speak out about which issues are most important to them. “These meetings will provide the public with an opportunity to engage in our budget process,” said County Board Chairman Bob Schillerstrom. “The more feedback we receive from our constituents, the greater the opportunity to craft a budget that reflects their wishes.” Paul Fichtner, Chairman of the County’s Finance Committee, notes that the County Board is eager to hear from residents and he is encouraging the public to participate in this year’s budget process. "Although DuPage County government collects and spends less then three percent of the average residential property tax bill, it is an important unit of government that funds many functions including the States Attorney’s Office, Sheriff’s Department and transportation projects,” said Fichtner. “We look forward to hearing what our residents think should be the priorities of this budget" The three meeting sites and dates are: The City of Naperville’s Council Chambers Village of Downers Grove Council Chambers Village of Addison Council Chambers For more information on the County’s Fiscal Year 2010 budget, please visit www.dupageco.org.
