| DuPage County Probation and Court Services is offering internships to undergraduate and graduate students in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Sociology and Social Work. Our Department feels a strong responsibility to contribute to the training and development of future professionals.
Internships are provided in any of the three divisions, Adult, Juvenile and Juvenile Detention. You will have the opportunity to:
- apply your academic experience to a real life setting;
- observe the many facets of the Criminal Justice system;
- observe different casework delivery styles; observe different management styles;
- develop new skills.
Intern experiences in Probation may include: conducting interviews; gathering social and criminal histories; designing case plans; matching resources with offender's needs; writing progress and court reports; crisis management; and participating in cognitive - behavioral intervention groups.
Intern Experiences in Juvenile Detention may include: implementing safety and security systems; coordinating resident orientation, academic and recreation programs; supervising individual and group activities, cognitive groups and the behavioral level system; and facilitate the home detention program.
Our Department feels a strong responsibility to contribute to the training and development of future professionals through a quality internship education program. Supervision is provided by experienced, professional staff who are committed to their work and the education of future social service professionals.
