Green Initiatives The information below on recycling and disposal is provided as a service to the residents of DuPage County. Inclusion is not intended as an endorsement of any of these companies or events, nor has the County purposely excluded any additional parties that may provide waste redution or recycling services. The events listed below are FREE. No hazardous waste, fluorescent bulbs, paint, dehumidifiers, refrigerators, or air conditioners will be accepted at any of the following events. Accepted items include dressers, cribs (crib bars may be no more than two inches apart), Lead acid batteries, electronics, household batteries, cell phones, ink cartridges, buttons, rulers, American flags, fire extinguishers and document shredding (limit 2 boxes/bags). LOMBARD RECYCLING EXTRAVAGANZA - September 18, 2010 - 9 am to 3 pm - Village of Lombard, 225 E. Wilson Ave. Accepted items include: electronics, document shredding (up to 4 boxes/bags), scrap metal, cell phones, books, car/marine batteries, bicycles, shoes, American flags, eyeglasses, hearing aids and flower pots. 2nd ANNUAL GREEN FAIR - September 25, 2010 - 10 am to 4 pm - Wheaton, IL. Cantigny and SCARCE will host the second annual Green Fair on Saturday, September 25. The event, from 10 am to 4 pm, will celebrate what’s working in our community—for people, businesses and the environment.
