State’s Attorney’s Office Finds No Wrongdoing by Naperville Park District Executive Director

DuPage County State’s Attorney Joe Birkett announced today that no evidence of illegality was discovered following an investigation conducted by his office into allegations of misconduct or improprieties by the Executive Director of the Naperville Park District. The office had been asked by the Naperville Police Department to review the findings of its investigation in respect to allegations involving Naperville Park District Executive Director, Ken Brissa. The investigation stemmed from concerns regarding the awarding of park construction contracts. At the conclusion of the investigation, it was determined that there was no evidence of any illegality on the part of Brissa with regard to the park district’s bidding process.

"I take allegations of bid-rigging and other forms of public corruption very seriously," commented State’s Attorney Birkett. "In this case, the evidence does not establish that any such misconduct occurred. The Park District officials, however, are answerable to the citizens with respect to their policies and protocol."
