STATEMENT FROM STATE’S ATTORNEY BIRKETT REGARDING RONALD ALVINE NATURAL LIFE SENTENCE

WHEATON – “Ronald Alvine is nothing more than a career criminal with an abysmal record who will spend the rest of his life behind bars for the cowardly murder of Officer Michael Browning,” remarked Birkett.  “I would like to commend Michael Wolfe, Chief of my Criminal Prosecutions Bureau and Jeffrey Kendall, Deputy Chief of my Criminal Prosecutions Bureau for their persistence and commitment on this case.  Hopefully today’s sentence will help ease the pain and suffering that Officer Browning’s family has had to endure throughout this painful trial.”
