LOMBARD MAN GETS 70 YEARS FOR CHILD MOLESTATION
WHEATON - DuPage County State’s Attorney Joseph E. Birkett today announced Charles Perrin, 40 (d.o.b. 6/6/66) of Lombard, was sentenced to 70 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for ten counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child, a Class X Felony. Judge Mark Dwyer handed down the sentence after a jury trial.
The jury found the defendant guilty of sexual assaulting a four year-old female victim between February and July 2005. The case was investigated following the victim’s disclosure that she had been molested by Perrin. The DuPage County Children’s Center led the investigation into the matter resulting in today’s sentencing. Also assisting in the investigation were agents of the United States Secret Service.
“Sexual assault of very young children such as we saw in this case, is a horrific crime with devastating effect on the victim and her family,” remarked Birkett. “With today’s sentencing, Judge Dwyer sent a strong message that this type of horrendous crime to our youngest and most defenseless victims will not be tolerated. Thankfully, Mr. Perrin will be unable to victimize any other child in the future. I would like to thank all the agencies involved in this matter including the DuPage County Children’s Center, the U.S Secret Service and Assistant State’s Attorneys Tom O’Connor and Demetri Demopolous for their work in this very disturbing case.”
