CHICAGO MAN GETS 36 YEARS IN SEXUAL ASSALTS WHEATON – DuPage County State’s Attorney Joe Birkett announced today that Dominick Rode, 36 (d.o.b. 1/26/71) of 2146 W. Cortez, Chicago, was sentenced to 36 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for sexual assault involving two separate incidents of inappropriate sexual conduct with a 16 year-old male and a 19 year-old male. The charges and today’s sentencing stem from allegations that on February 18, 2003, Rode approached his first victim, the 16 year-old, in the early evening from behind while he was walking along a public street. Rode forced his victim to a secluded location where he sexually assaulted him. The second assault occurred on May 27, 2003. In this instance, Rode made contact with his victim by tapping on a kitchen window while the victim was at home working on his computer. Under the threat of force, Rode ordered his victim to get undressed and approach the window. It was at this time that Rode assaulted the victim. “Dominick Rode is a sexual predator, plain and simple,” remarked Birkett. “He preyed on innocent boys, attacking them wherever and whenever he felt, to satisfy his own sexual desires. Thanks to the sentence handed down today by Judge Thompson, Mr. Rode will be behind bars where he belongs, unable to prey on and victimize young boys again.” ###
