States Attorney STATE’S ATTORNEY’S OFFICE TO HOST TWO-DAY TRAINING PROGRAMTopics covered will include leadership skills; ethics and professional responsibility; employment issues, including FMLA, ADA, recruiting, hiring and disciplining attorneys and staff; public relations; and establishing effective office policies and procedures. “It is the responsibility of the State’s Attorney to seek justice in each individual case,” remarked Birkett. “Protection of the public and the well being of crime victims are the concerns that guide the trial practice, policy development, program implementation and actions of each of the professionals who work in our respective Offices. I have planned this supervisor training program to assist us in carrying out these duties.” Scheduled to speak at the program are: DuPage County State’s Attorney Joseph Birkett; Pat Blanchard, Chief, Special Litigation Division of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office; Carole Doris, former Chief Deputy in the Illinois Attorney General’s Office, James G. Sotos of Sotos and Associates; Ed Parkinson, Special Prosecutor, State’s Appellate Prosecutor’s Office; Christy Gutowski, Daily Herald; Honorable Paul Logli, Winnebago County Judge and James Grogan, Chief Counsel, ARDC. ###
