States Attorney The charges stem from allegations that on December 13, 2007, the student wrote on a desk at the school. The following day, two students alerted a teacher to the writing, which was allegedly of a threatening nature. The teacher notified the School Resource Officer who in turn alerted the school Deans. An investigation by the Hinsdale Police Department and school officials resulted in the filing of today’s charges. “Without getting into the details of what was allegedly written on that desk, I will say that whenever there is a threat made at a school, that threat must be taken very seriously,” commented Birkett. “Teachers cannot teach and students cannot learn if they instead are concerned about their own personal safety. We must do all we can to ensure that our schools remain free from violence and threats of violence.
