NAPERVILLEMAN CHARGED WITH PREDATORY CRIMINAL SEXUAL ASSAULT OF A CHILD

Assault allegedly took place at home-based daycare center

WHEATON – DuPage County State’s Attorney Joe Birkett and Naperville Chief of Police David Dial announced today that forty three year-old Jose E. Luviano (d.o.b. 9/16/1965) of 108 Cedarbrook, Naperville, has been charged with one count of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child, a Class X Felony.  Luviano appeared in bond court this morning where his bond was set at $1 million with 10% to apply.  His next court appearance is scheduled for August 10 in front of Judge Peter Dockery.

Today’s charges stem from allegations that Luviano assaulted his victim at his home while she was attending a child daycare center operated by Luviano’s wife.  The child daycare business, Christian Dollhouse Daycare, was operated out of the couple’s home.  The Naperville Police Department began an investigation into Luviano after the victim’s parents grew concerned about statements the child made regarding the abuse and contacted authorities.  The State’s Attorney’s Office and the Naperville Police Department are continuing their investigation into the matter to determine if additional victims exist.  Anyone who used Christian Dollhouse Daycare for child care services or anyone with information about the daycare is asked to call the Naperville Police Department at (630) 420-6726.

“Parents who use daycare services should not have to worry about the welfare and safety of their children while they are away,” stated Birkett.  “This type of behavior will not be tolerated and if proven true will be met with the full force of the law.  I would like to thank the parents of this young victim for alerting authorities as well as the Naperville Police Department for their investigation into these allegations.”

Members of the public are reminded that these complaints contain only charges and are not proof of the defendant’s guilt.  A defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which it is the government’s burden to prove his or her guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
