Raymond

Raymond

Pit Mix

Male

10 Months

**Raymond is part of the UnderDog to WonderDog Program** He’s big (85lbs!), he’s boofy, and he’s ready to smother (get ready!) someone just like YOU with LOVE! Surrendered to the shelter when his owner moved away and couldn’t take him along Raymond is ready to bust out of the shelter and find a family to LOVE! Overstimulated and a bit bored in the shelter Raymond has been demonstrating some jumpy and mouthy behaviors to express his displeasure at being confined. When he’s out of the shelter and exploring the great outdoors or snuggled up in a quiet room with staff or volunteers Raymond shows what a dopey, affectionate, lug head he really is! All he needs is a bit of work, some patience, and a whole lot of love! Something, hopefully, you can provide! Raymond is a confident, social boy but he is BIG and needs to work on his manners. He currently comes at people like an overly enthusiastic rhinoceros, so he will need to learn to tone it down a bit. Being an active rhino (err dog) on the go Raymond would do best in a home that can keep his body and mind busy with lots of exercise and stimulating games like hide-n-seek and nose work. A real foodie Raymond will do just about anything for treats which includes learning some manners, he just needs a patient person like YOU to teach him! DCAS will even help you out! As part of the UnderDog to WonderDog program Raymond is going home with an awesome training package to get him settled in his new pad! To help Raymond find that perfect home he has been dreaming of and go from Under Dog to Wonder Dog DuPage County Animal Services, with the generous donors of DuPage Animal Friends, has put together an adoption package to ease Raymond’s transition into a home and to build a bond between him and his people. Adopt Raymond and you will receive a customized training plan for Raymond, 3 paid in-home sessions with a trainer familiar with Raymond and what he needs to work on, 3 months of phone/email follow up with the trainer, and a gift bag of training supplies that includes: A Sound Beginning Book & CD to help set up your home to welcome Raymond, a Martingale collar and additional 6’ leash, an XL Kong toy, a Kong Wobbler enrichment toy, a Nylabone, and other enrichment toys. All potential adopters must live in the Greater Chicagoland Area to participate in the training package offered with Raymond.
