Scout Program

The Scout Program offered at Animal Services offers Boy & Girl Scouts the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the life-saving work done at Animal Services while also learning about what they can do to help animals in their community. Scouts will get an interactive behind-the-scenes tour, make new furry friends, and complete a small service project by creating enrichment items for out shelter animals.

The Scout Patch program is available during the school year from September - May. The 1.5 hour program is designed for 5-12 participants. You may schedule multiple programs for larger groups. To schedule a tour, the troop leader should contact Humane Educator Andy Salis at 630-407-2808/ Tours require a $5 donation per child and are offered Monday-Saturday.  A waiver & release form must be completed for each scout and submitted the day of the tour. Scouts without signed waivers will not be able to participate in the tour. Waivers can  be printed here ( Waiver & Release Form).
