Animal Services

Available Animals for Adoption

To follow best practices recommended by the CDC for social distancing, our adoption process has changed. Our space for animal interaction is small, so we have moved to virtual interactions with curbside pick-up. Our process for counseling you on a perfect pet pick is the same whether in-person or virtually. We are committed to helping you find a great pet match by showing you the animals available, talking about what we have observed in their personalities, and sharing best practices in care. We are also a resource to you after you bring a new pet home. We recommend doing some homework about what type of pet best fits your household activity level, time commitment, space, other pets, and all the other factors that go into selecting a new pet. If you've decided you are ready to adopt, please review our current adoption process below.

Adoption Programs

Open adoption hours are suspended immediately, and we will be facilitating adoptions virtually via Zoom and by appointment only.

Step 1.  Scroll down or visit our Facebook page to learn more information about animals up for adoption.

Step 2. Call our office at 630-407-2800 to speak with a staff member about a pet you are interested in.

Step 3. If you are interested in meeting a pet, complete an adoption application directly from the links below.

Step 4. Once your application is received and reviewed, staff will call you to discuss the pet you wish to meet and schedule a virtual Zoom meet and greet with that pet. During the virtual interaction, you’ll be able to see the pet on video and have all your questions answered by an adoption counselor. Please note that a submitted application does not place that pet on hold for you or guarantee you will be able to meet that pet.

Step 5. Meet your potential new pet and if it is a perfect match, schedule a time to complete the adoption and pick up your new pet via curbside pick-up. We know bringing home a new pet is a big deal, so we also give you until the close of business on the next day to think about it and then make a decision.
