Cronin Accepts Applications to Fill District 4 Vacancy

DuPage County Board Chairman Dan Cronin is accepting applications for the District 4 Board vacancy that recently occurred following the death of JR McBride of Glen Ellyn.

“I encourage District 4 residents to consider serving on the County Board. The nominee will help advance our reform agenda to make DuPage County a smarter, more efficient form of government,” said Cronin.

McBride passed away October 24, 2014.

Those interested in serving District 4 for the remainder of the term, which expires Nov. 30, 2016, should submit the following to Chairman Cronin’s office:

• A cover letter of intent summarizing the reasons the applicant is interested in serving on the County Board (no more than 300 words);
• A resume; and
• An application, which can be found at

The applications will be screened and a candidate forum for finalists will be held November 22, 2014. Following the forum, Cronin will select a nominee and submit it to the County Board for the Tuesday, December 9th, board meeting.

The applicants must reside in District 4. A map of the district boundaries can be found at Applicants must be a member of the same political party (Republican) as the person they are succeeding.
