DuPage County Hosting Public Hearing on HUD Funding March 19

DuPage County will host a public hearing regarding funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, at the County's JTK Administration Building, 421 N. County Rd., Wheaton, in room 1-500B.

HUD has allocated nearly $31.5 million to DuPage County for disaster recovery stemming from the April 2013 flood. The hearing will focus on the second amendment to the County's Action Plan, which details how the funds will be spent.

In addition, DuPage County is eligible to receive funding from HUD in the form of a competitive grant, the National Disaster Resilience Competition (NDRC). The County's application for the first phase of the competition will also be up for discussion.

Both documents are also currently open for public comment. To view the disaster recovery draft second amendment and Action Plan, visit To view the draft NDRC applications, visit
