DuPage County Stormwater Management to Host Public Green Infrastructure Workshop
DuPage County Stormwater Management and The Conservation Foundation are hosting a free Green Infrastructure and Native Landscaping Workshop on Thursday, April 30, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
"This workshop will provide property owners with the basic knowledge they need to pursue green infrastructure projects - both small and large scale," said DuPage County Stormwater Committee Chairman Jim Zay.
The workshop will feature expert speakers discussing permeable pavement options, rainwater harvesting systems, rain gardens, native plants and rain barrels. In addition, local exhibitors will provide attendees with recommendations on site selection, installation and maintenance of green infrastructure projects.
"Whether you're an expert or novice on green infrastructure, you will walk away with a better understanding of how to get these projects off the ground," added Zay.
The workshop will be held at the Hawthorn/Chestnut Room of The Morton Arboretum's Visitor Center, 4100 IL Route 53, Lisle, and registration will open at 5:30 p.m. The event is open to the public. Please register in advance by emailing email@example.com.
