The DuPage Convalescent Center will host a fundraiser on Thursday, July 30, at the City Gate Grille in Naperville.
The Celebrity Bartender Night will feature live music and a menu with items available for purchase. All celebrity bartender tips will go toward the Convalescent Center Foundation. The event will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday, July 30, at the City Gate Grille, 2020 Calamos Court, Naperville.
Bob Larsen, chairman of the DuPage County Board's Health and Human Services Committee, said money raised from the event will go toward recreational and therapeutic programs and services for residents of the DuPage Convalescent Center.
"This event provides a great way for the community to support the mission and 125-year history of our Convalescent Center. The Center provides a safe, secure home for our friends and neighbors who need medical care. As funding streams become tighter, I believe it's vitally important that we step up and show residents, staff and volunteers that we value them and the work they do," said Larsen.
Several area elected officials will participate in the fundraiser as celebrity bartenders, including Naperville Township Supervisor Rachel Ossyra, DuPage County Board Members Kevin Wiley and Bob Larsen, on-air personality Scott Mackay from 95.9 the River and Winfield Township Republican Central Committee Chairman Burt Minor.
In addition, the special guest for the evening will be Illinois Lt. Governor Evelyn Sanguinetti.
"The Celebrity Bartender Night fundraiser is a creative and fun way to raise money for a great cause," said Ray Valadez, foundation board president.
