DuPage County Unveils Two GIS Map Applications to Assist Residents
DuPage County has unveiled two new GIS mapping applications to assist residents in looking up land records and submitting reports for repairs.
The first mapping application is the Parcel Viewer, which is a land information mapping application that provides public land record and real estate information. Through the application, users can access parcel, subdivision and subdivision lot information, as well as other land information including flood zones, elevation contours, wetlands and soils.
Users can also look at parcels through the years and access a street view. There are various options for data output through maps, reports and spreadsheets.
The second application is Citizen Report, which allows residents to report repair issues that are needed in certain areas of the County. Users can report the type of issue and include contact information, comments and photos of the issue. The application allows users to interact with a submitted report, where they can indicate if they believe this is an issue. This helps reduced the number for identical reports for the same issue.
The application can be used to report stream maintenance, and the County is working with the Division of Transportation to report issues on County roads such as potholes, road kill, signal outages, damaged street poles and more.
Both applications are mobile-compliant websites and can be accessed from a desktop, tablet or smart phone. To access the Parcel Viewer application, go to http://gis.dupageco.org/parcelviewer and to access the Citizen Reporter application, go to http://gis.dupageco.org/CitizenReporter/#.
