Statement from Chairman Dan Cronin Regarding Action by Illinois E.P.A.

After asking the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency to perform water testing for residents impacted by the emissions of ethylene oxide by the Sterigenics Willowbrook facility, today DuPage County Board Chairman Dan Cronin said:

“I am pleased to see the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency respond to our call for water testing near the Sterigenics Willowbrook facility. This is an important first step. We will watch to make sure the testing protocol is comprehensive, and that it’s 100 percent accurate to ensure the public health and safety of all residents. I am committed to making sure any resident with a well contaminated due to ethylene oxide emission receives access to clean water, be it from Lake Michigan, or any other source.”
