DuPage County Awards Human Services Grants to Nonprofit Agencies

The DuPage County Board awarded $900,000 to local nonprofits today through the DuPage County Human Services Grant Fund.

Health and Human Services Committee Chairman Pete DiCianni said the fund was created by the County Board to partner with agencies directly serving the needs of DuPage County residents.

“These DuPage County nonprofits provide vital community services to protect our most vulnerable populations. This public-private partnership helps these agencies pursue additional private and public support to leverage the largest amount of money to help the most people possible. We are honored to help improve the lives of DuPage County residents through this program,” DiCianni said.

The grants are available to organizations that help families achieve independence, ensure the protection of children and other vulnerable residents, in addition to maximizing prevention opportunities to strengthen families’ well-being and stability.

The grants range from $3,157 to $56,000. The agencies were required to be registered as a 501(c)(3), serve a broad geographical area of DuPage County and have made a substantial impact on County residents for at least three years.
