Our work continues every day as we help our residents impacted by the tornado that hit DuPage County on Sunday, June 20. Public Works, Transportation, and Stormwater crews are removing debris and clearing streets, the Sheriff’s Department is assisting law enforcement in keeping the area safe, and our Community Services staff members are connecting people to social services they need as they recover. Our efforts are coordinated by our DuPage Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
I’ve also been working with the Governor and the Illinois Emergency Management Agency as we assess damage and provide the immediate help our residents need.
For those seeking assistance, a “one-stop” response center is being set up in Woodridge for residents’ convenience. Learn more at https://www2.illinois.gov/Pages/news-item.aspx?ReleaseID=23486.
