Construction Status

Temporary Traffic Signals are in operation at 55th Street/Main Street.
Temporary Traffic Signals are in operation at 55th Street/Fairview Avenue.
During the 2019 construction season, traffic was in the Stage 1 configuration only between Dunham Road and Fairmount Avenue, with the north lane closed and 55th Street in a 3-lane configuration through this area, one lane open in each direction separated by a two-way left turn lane.  Main Street was also in a 3-lane configuration.  The north side widening at Main Street was completed this season, along with miscellaneous curb and gutter and sidewalk repairs, but the Stage 1 work at Fairview was not started due to utility work.
The original traffic configuration was restored in late December 2019 for the winter period.
On April 3, 2020 the 3-lane configuration was again partially implemented to continue the work.
Manhole frames from have been removed from the roadway area, and milling (grinding) the asphalt for subsequent resurfacing has also been completed.  The manhole frames will be re-set after the first layer of asphalt are completed.
The first layer of asphalt is currently being placed.
Current work activities also include retaining walls, driveways, traffic signals, and landscape restoration.
