Real-Time Trail Map for Smart Phones & Tablets QR CODE BIKE APP

DuPage County GIS Department in conjunction with the Division of Transportation has developed a GPS locator map application.   This will allow users to use the GPS function in their smart phone or tablet to determine where they are on or in relation to the county's trail system.  While this is not a bicycle or running tracking / training application (like Strava or Map My Ride), it is a good mapping application that allows somebody unfamiliar with the DuPage County trail system to orient him/herself or gauge how far they are to a destination or trail.   Visit our Real0-Time Map (and select option (C) Trail Map of DuPage County) or scan the QR Code to the right to access this application.

DuPage County - Will County connection

DuPage County has been working with the Will County Forest Preserve, the City of Naperville, and the DuPage County Forest Preserve to identify safe routes between regional trails.  Will County obtained grant funds  to connect Greene Valley Forest Preserve (DuPage County) with Whalon Lake Forest Preserve (Will County) via Paxson Avenue in Bolingbrook and new trail segments. However, this segment is not yet constructed.  Until that project is completed, the map below illustrates a safe, on-street route between trails within these two forest preserves.  This linkage will allow bicyclists to access trails in Will County from the Southern DuPage Regional Trail or the East Branch DuPage River Regional Trail.  DuPage-Will Recommended Bike Route Map.
