DuPage County Stormwater Management creates watershed plans that identify flood-prone areas and water quality impairments on streams and rivers countywide. The plans oftentimes include preferred alternatives, or projects, to mitigate for these issues. The County has several recent and ongoing watershed plans for both flood control and water quality, all of which are listed below.
In addition, DuPage County is partnering with the U.S. Army Corps. of Engineers (USACE) on a comprehensive flood control study of the entire DuPage River. The study, which also involves a partnership with Will County, is anticipated to be completed in 2018.
