Early Voting

DuPage County qualified voters may vote "early" at the  DuPage County Election Commission beginning 40 days prior to an election.

Please Note: As of Monday, March 5, 2018, early voting at the DuPage County Complex will be located in the 2nd Floor Cafeteria.

The first day to mail or cast an Early Voting ballot at the Election Commission for the March 20, 2018 General Primary Election, is Wednesday, February 21st.

Early Voting will be open at locations throughout DuPage County beginning Monday, March 5, 2018.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Must be a qualified to vote in DuPage County

 Election workers verify the voter's registration status through a central database at the DuPage County Election Commission. If the voter is not registered, they must register at the appropriate area in the location.

Once validated, the database is updated (preventing the voter from voting at another location). The voter is allowed to cast a ballot using an ATM-like touch screen device. The vote will be tabulated once the polls close on Election Day.

Early voting timeline

  • First day - 40th day prior to an election
  • Last day - 1 day prior to an election

For the March 20, 2018, General Primary Election (Election Commission office only)

  • First day - Wednesday, February 21, 2018
  • Last day - Monday, March 19, 2018

Beginning 15 days prior through the day before an election, several sites throughout DuPage County will offer early voting as well.

  • First day - Monday, March 5, 2018
  • Last day - Monday, March 19, 2018


Please Note: Once an early vote has been cast, the vote is final. The voter may not go to the polling place on Election Day to change a vote.
