Title: Assistant Director of Nursing

Hours: Full-Time: 40 hours per week as scheduled

Salary: Depending on Qualifications Must submit salary history and salary requirements for consideration

Responsibilities include:
•    Assists with developing nursing priorities, goals and action plans
•    Makes periodic rounds to check quality of nursing care
•    Hires, directs, evaluates, promotes, disciplines, and adjusts grievances or effectively recommends such actions for personnel assigned to staff
•    Serves as a resource person, develops, interprets, supports and implements facility and County policies and procedures
•    Assists with preparation and monitoring the annual budget
•    Interacts with vendors as needed, ensures compliance with the County’s Procurement process and procedures
•    Participates in clinical rounds, on-call after-hours nursing clinical rotation and serves as weekend manager on duty as assigned
•    Responsible for the investigation, mandated reporting, and subsequent follow-up of resident allegations as required by the Illinois Department of Public Health
•    Leads Quality Improvement initiatives as assigned by the Director of Nursing along with assisting with development and implementation of service standards and patient satisfaction
•    Attends meetings and serves on various interdisciplinary committees
•    Ensures adherence to state and Federal regulatory requirements
•    Evaluates nursing care and related documentation, makes recommendations to develop action plans for improvements
•    Supports nursing administration by providing supervision and oversight to critical areas
•    Maintains accurate records and reports as required
•    Works with appropriate staff to coordinate a smooth transition into facility for all admissions and internal facility transfers
•    Provides support to the Medicare A program and assures compliance with documentation requirements
•    Assumes responsibilities of the Director of Nursing during their absence or in the event of a vacancy in the position

Requirements include the following experience or equivalent combination of training and experience:
•    Possession of an Illinois Registered Nurse License
•    Bachelors’ Degree in Nursing and 3 years’ experience in a Long Term Care facility or as a Nursing Supervisor; or a Bachelor’s Degree in a related healthcare field and 5 years’ experience in Long Term Care

The Preferred candidate will possess:
•    Diverse professional background within the medical and long term care fields
•    Additional certifications such as Minimum Data Set and/ or Nursing Restorative certifications
