Hours: Full-Time: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., evenings and weekends as needed

Salary: $60,000-$70,000 annually

There is currently a full-time Emergency Management Coordinator position available.

Responsibilities include:
•    Performs Emergency Operations Center (EOC) duties/positions as assigned
•    Serves as an OHSEM liaison to various agencies and departments (e.g. law enforcement, public works, etc.) and other first responders, which may include emergency “on-scene” unified command post response
•    Participates in training and mutual aid response for specialized emergency & disaster teams, (e.g. EMAT, IMAT, ITECS, etc.) and conducts hazard analysis and mitigation planning
•    Ability to write and update emergency plans and other planning documents according to Comprehensive Planning Guide 101
•    Reviews and recommends modifications to DuPage County’s Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) Maintenance
•    Assists DuPage municipalities with comprehensive emergency and disaster related plan development
•    Coordinates DuPage County’s Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) implementation, National Incident Management System (NIMS) Training & Compliance, employee emergency training, and DuPage County exercises and regional exercise coordination
•    Coordinates Citizen Preparedness Education, Emergency Public Information and Warning, Community & Volunteer Management
•    Tracks, maintains and monitors activities and licensures (i.e. training records, donations, communication licensing and grants) to ensure compliancy as required
•    Develops Business Resource Partnerships Coordinates Communications Technology Development and Implementation and Communications Planning

Requirements for this position include the following experience or equivalent combination of training and experience:
•    Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management or related field
•    Three years of experience with development and coordination of emergency management training and exercise activities or an equivalent combination of education and experience
•    Thorough understanding of Homeland Security and Exercise Evaluation Program (HSEEP) developing discussion and operations based exercises
•    Valid Illinois Driver’s License

The preferred candidate will have:
•    Experience in developing and conducting HSEEP compliant exercises
•    Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) status
•    Illinois Professional Emergency Manager (IPEM) certification
•    Master Exercise Practitioner certification
•    Experience in public speaking and possess superior writing and presentation skills
