On August 15, 2016, landscapers discovered an unidentified female infant's body inside of a black pack at the end of a private driveway in Unincorporated Wheaton, Illinois. "Baby Hope" was wrapped inside of a Brown bath mat and Brown toilet seat cover. The cause of "Baby Hope's" death has been ruled undetermined. Reports indicate that "Baby Hope" took at least one breath after being born.

The DuPage County Coroner's Office has worked in conjunction with The DuPage County Sheriff's Office, as well as the National Center For Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC.) Pollen testing on the items found with "Baby Hope" indicated that the parents originated from an urban part of Northern Illinois, or perhaps the South Western portion of the Country.

With the help of Parabon Nano-Labs, DNA was used to determine that both of "Baby Hope's" parents were Hispanic. Blood tests also revealed that a medication used to treat Epilepsy was found in "Baby Hope's" blood, which would indicate that the mother suffered from Epilepsy.

On September 22, 2016, "Baby Hope" was buried at St. Michael Cemetery in Wheaton. Numerous Law Enforcement Officers and members of the Coroner's Office attended the funeral. Today, this case remains active and open. If you have any information that could lead to identifying "Baby Hope's" parents, please contact: Deputy Coroner Brandon Johnson of The DuPage County Coroner's Office at 630-407-2600 or e-mail: brandon.johnson@dupagecounty.gov or Detective Danny Dorpat of The DuPage County Sheriff's Office at 630-407-2207.
