Medicine
In 2022 the drug take-back bill (IL HB 1780) was approved by the General Assembly and went into effect on December 1, 2023. The legislation provides residents a safe, easy way to drop off unwanted medications that might otherwise have gone to waterways and landfill. See below for medicine kiosk locations and for more information about mail-back options. To look up the below locations and any new sites added see Med-Project or Inmar's websites.
The program is for unused prescriptions and expired medicines generated by residents. No commercial or institutional waste will be accepted. Any personal information should be blacked out for safety.
