Kathryn E. Creswell Chief Judge

PRESS RELEASE – April 20, 2017


Chief Circuit Judge Kathryn Creswell is pleased to announce that Mr. John H. Schow has been named as the Director of Probation and Court Services for the 18th Judicial Circuit (DuPage County, Illinois). Mr. Schow was selected after a four-month nationwide search for prospective candidates. Mr. Schow will be replacing Patricia Hayden who will be retiring in June of this year. Mr. Schow will start the position on June 5, 2017.

Mr. John H. Schow currently is the Director of Juvenile Court Services in Pima County, Arizona and has held that position since 2014. Prior to that he was the Deputy Chief Probation Officer for Juvenile Probation in Maricopa County, Arizona (2012-2014); Deputy Director of Juvenile Probation Services in Pima County, Arizona (2007-2012); Probation Unit Supervisor, Pima County Juvenile Court (2004-2007) and a Probation Officer for Pima County Juvenile Court (1997-2004). Mr. Schow also served in the United States Navy from 1988-1996.

Mr. Schow earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the State of New York. He received his Masters of Science degree in Management from Troy State University. Mr. Schow has served on many statewide committees in Arizona and is an active member of the American Probation and Parole Association’s Juvenile Justice Committee.
